Why you need to own Zenith Bank shares today.
Today I want to bring to your attention the significance of ownership. Ownership is simply the act, state, or right of possessing something, and is something we should all do no matter how little we have and regardless of how much we are worth. This brings me to why I want you to consider owning Zenith Bank shares today.
Zenith Bank is one of Nigeria’s top banks, in a banking industry that is a key driver of not just the Nigerian Stock Exchange, but the Nigerian economy. When it comes to investing in shares you need to look at two things- the Qualitatives (the non-numbers) and the Quantitatives (the numbers).
When it comes to the Qualitatives such as business model, brand value, corporate value, and competitive advantage, Zenith Bank has an A+ rating in the banking industry and economy in Nigeria. When it comes to the Quantitatives as it relates to any company, what is important is the dividend and the health of the company to pay a dividend over time. In that regard, Zenith Bank has offered a strong annual dividend of ₦2.5 per share and has been paying that amount for the past 5 years, including the year of Covid, and this has been backed by strong earnings, cash flow, assets, and low liabilities.
Given all this and the fact that Zenith Bank has been priced at lower than ₦30 for the past 15 years (lower than the price of one egg), my advice would be to buy as much volume as you can over time, even if you can buy ₦5,000 worth a month, it is worth it.
